Right about now I am thankful that I bought a fuel efficient car. I just paid $1.80 for gas - that was $17.36 to tank up my car. Good thing it's getting about 37mpg. (Yay Saturn!) I know we've been spoiled here in the US for awhile now, but that hurt. I was thinking about it, and for someone making minimum wage one would have to work for 4 hours just to fill up a gas tank, and that's assuming a smaller tank. Goodness forbid you drive one of those behemoth SUV monsters right about now.
Recently I've been frequenting a web site called akrongasprices.com to see where the cheapest gas is. You can also add prices that you come across while driving around to share with other people. It seems that there is a website for most major metropolitan areas in the US. Check it out for better prices. Of course I didn't feel like driving 40 miles to get cheaper gas this evening.

gas in cleveland broke the 2.00 mark today (for the premium)

it's truly a sad state of affairs.

We had an even better one in the little college town where I recently spent the better part of 4 years. They showed the picture of the price sign from our ONE gas station in the school paper--regular cost an arm, plus was a leg, and premium cost your firstborn child.
But then, gas prices always were much worse there than around here.

We're up to around $1.83 a gallon here in the Boston area. If you look really hard and waste gas trying to find something cheaper, you can get a gallon for around $1.77. My freaking Mobil bill was astronomical!
