Health insurance isn't what it used to be. Well, maybe that's not quite right. Maybe they've always tried to screw you. My health insurance sent my EOB showing that everything was "in-network," but when they processed it they did it as out of network. So then I get outrageous bills from the hospital. When I call, they try to tell me that everything is correct. Then I geek out and tell them I've made a spreadsheet of my healthcare costs, and the numbers don't add up. Oh, they say. Perhaps we'll look at this again. Nice..
Lesson: Don't trust your insurance provider!

Perhaps the excessive insurance bill is because you demanded a dozen pink roses and a large bottle of poppers before submitting to your last rectal exam.
