peer pressure elections

The whole idea of Iowa's caucusing is a bit of a mystery to me.  At least until I read this: "Under Iowa's arcane caucus rules, candidates must receive support from 15 percent of the participants in each precinct to be viable. If not, their supporters can switch to other candidates."

So it's the peer pressure model of elections.  Now I get it.
