Study finds gay gene in fruit flies - Yahoo! News

Well, duh.

The interesting thing is that the article states that the gene seems to be affected by a drug.  "The study tested the hypothesis by giving the bisexual fruit flies drugs that weakened their synapses. Within hours the flies engaged exclusively in heterosexual activity." (Yahoo News, 2007)  This raises the several decades old question: If you could be straight by taking a drug, would you?

I think at this point in my life, I'm not willing to sacrifice my fabulousness.  I'd have to change my entire wardrobe, not to mention spend more money on the various ESPN networks. Besides, I have no time to watch football and crap.

Seriously, I am who I am.  And I think that pretty much sums it up.  I am who I am today because of what I've been through and the unique perspectives that my life has afforded me.  I have a wonderful chosen family as well as my own incredible family, and I wouldn't trade that for anything.  I have a partner who I could not imagine life without, and why would I change that?  I am who I am, and I'm happy with that.

Besides, the drug would probably have side effects like nausea, explosive diarrhea, impotence, and excessive sweating...  Not to mention the lack of coordination...
